Lori Wolhar has been defending medical providers and medical care for 25 years in both state and federal courts. Her practice currently focuses on the defense of healthcare institutions and providers in healthcare litigation matters but she has represented clients in all types of personal injury matters from premises liability to Section 1983 (42 U.S.C. sec. 1983) claims.
Prior to obtaining her law degree, Lori earned an undergraduate degree in nursing and worked as Registered Nurse in a Delaware hospital. Her background as a healthcare provider gives her both a passion for the defense of Delaware healthcare providers, as well as insight into the delivery of healthcare by nurses, doctors, and other hospital personnel. She believes that this combination allows a complete and collaborative approach to the defense of healthcare negligence matters.
Lori aims to put healthcare providers and organizations in the best possible position to proceed through all phases of the defense including navigating presuit legal issues and exposures, through litigation and appeal in order to obtain the best outcomes for the client. Lori assists healthcare clients through the often-confusing landscape of complex medical negligence matters once a lawsuit is filed, but has also assisted in hospital policy and bylaw development for clients who take a proactive approach to healthcare delivery in Delaware. Lori also takes great pride in research and writing, and when necessary has asserted novel challenges to the application of Delaware statutes and common law doctrine to healthcare providers.
Lori was born and raised in Delaware, is married and has two children, Jake and Josh. She is a rabid Philadelphia sports fan. She believes that like the Eagles, the Phillies will win a championship in the very near future.
